The Foundation attracts funding from a range of supporters. You can read more about the businesses that support us on the ‘give’ page.

Through their generosity we are able to deliver our community investment programme through our different funding streams:

Small Grants Fund (up to £1,000)

The small grants scheme offers grants of up to £1,000 to grass roots community projects. Any group can apply, as long as the project benefits the residents of the Stockport. This may include:

  • Groups of friends

  • Voluntary or Community groups

  • Not for profit social enterprises / local charitable organisations

Community Fund: Investing in Health and Wellbeing

This grant scheme offers grants of between £1,000 and £15,000.

This fund opens twice a year and is for projects which will improve life expectancy and reduce health inequalities in Stockport. We identify priorities from local needs data and by working with our partners to ensure that the funding tackles issues affecting customers and communities.

All decisions are made by an independent grants panel, which is a formal subsidiary of the Equity Enterprise Board. The panel is made up of Equity Board Members, Colleagues and Customers and makes decisions against a criteria framework. The panel may invite appropriate experts to join the panel to advise on specialist topics as required.

Social Enterprise Fund

‘Social enterprise is about changing the world through business. [It} is about business where everyone profits.’ [1]

A 2015 survey into the social enterprise sector found that there are approximately 70,000 social enterprises in the UK, contributing £24 billion to the economy and employing nearly a million people. The sector is responsible for some of the most innovative and people focused solutions to modern issues. We know that investment is key for the social enterprise sector to grow. The social enterprise funds social enterprises who deliver in the Stockport area to grow their social businesses.

This fund opens once a year for applications.
