Stockport Social Entrepreneurs join Flourish Network

Flourish CIC is the new social enterprise set up by Women Supporting Social Entrepreneurs (WSSE) to enable them to grow the amazing work they’ve been doing to support women social entrepreneurs. They hosted a 12 hour Mentoring Marathon 2017 in the summer . During the Marathon entrepreneurs, pitched their business idea to a panel of social enterprise experts who discussed their ventures viability and then fed back to the entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurs gained support of an impartial sounding board for 75 minutes at the mentor-a-thon plus ongoing mentoring for 6 – 12 months and an opportunity to pitch for a cash award in the region of £250 – £500.

Two Stockport based social Enterpreneurs who have received support from Equity are now connected to the network; Ellie Thouret, from Cheshire Parenting CIC says:  “I am thrilled to receive this support from Flourish CIC. The funding will enable me to attend training and will subsidise childcare. The mentoring package is just as exciting – support from an experienced social entrepreneur will be so valuable. I am really looking forward to developing my social enterprise with support from Flourish CIC.”

Louise Waddington, Make a Pathway “I am super excited to have been chosen to be supported by Flourish. I am certain that their knowledge and expertise will support the growth of MAP over the coming months. I am really excited to be given a mentor who can support my journey! ”
